PURCHASE COLBY'S CHRISTMAS CARDS
The holiday season is upon us again! Colby Christensen has a lot to celebrate this year. As a result of your generous help this year, Colby was able to attend two intensive therapy clinics, one in Poland and one in Georgia. She has worked very hard and continues to make great progress.
In 2006, Colby hopes to participate in an on-going research program at the University of Alabama in Birmingham called Constraint Induced Movement Therapy. This involves therapy six days a week, six hours a day for twenty-one days to improve motor skills through continuous practice and shaping of the weak arm and hand, while simultaneously constraining the strong side. A recent article in the New York Times referred to CIMT as the “cutting edge” of therapy for stroke victims. More can be learned about this novel approach at www.circ.uab.edu/cit.htm.
To raise money for this program, Colby will be selling Christmas cards again this year! This year two styles of cards are available: the Nativity scene from last year and a new classic design drawn by another friend of Colby. Both designs are available in packages of twelve cards (with envelopes) for $10.
The cards can be purchased online at Colby’s website at www.nowican.org/christmas.htm or by calling Tracey Christensen at (801) 376-4588. Donations may also be made online through the Life Hope Foundation at www.lifehopefoundation.org/contribute.htm.
Thank you again for all your help and support,
Colby’s family

We are excited to announce that Colby and her family are headed to a new state-side therapy facility called Sunshine Therapy in Kennesaw, Georgia next month! The Christensens are thrilled to have found a place much closer to home that offers the same Adeli methodology that was so helpful to Colby in the treatment she received for her cerebral palsy in Poland last winter. (For more information on Sunshine Therapy, visit their website at http://www.sunshinetherapy.com). The Christensens are hopeful that this additional therapy will help Colby make another giant leap in her progress. Colby and her family express their appreciation to all those who continue to contribute to Colby’s care. Your generosity has allowed Colby to have access to treatment that otherwise would be out of her reach. She continues to make incredible progress in mobility and motor control. We at the Life Hope Foundation extend our heartfelt thanks to all who contributed to Colby's first therapy experience at the Euromed Clinic in Poland. Colby and her Mom spent a month at the world-renowned facility where a team of experts worked with Colby for many hours every day doing a wide spectrum of treatments and exercises. Colby made some great friends from around the world while she developed tremendous strength on her right side which has stabilized her walking considerably. The Christensens are deeply grateful for the assistance of so many who made this possible for Colby. She is back home working hard to continue what she started at Euromed, and they are saving funds for their next visit. Your continued donations are welcomed and greatly appreciated.

Colby Christensen is a fun-loving, intelligent and kind 4 year old girl with cerebral palsy incurred from complications at birth. Her parents have been working with doctors for years to make improvements in her condition. However, they’ve found that the approach to therapy here in the United States isn’t making the difference they’d hoped for. They recently found a treatment center in Poland (Euromed Clinic) that offers an intense therapy protocol for 28 days straight, six hours a day with tremendous results. The cost of the program is upwards of $10,000. The Life Hope Foundation is honored to receive donations in Colby’s behalf which will go 100% to the cost of the treatment program.
